Scripture tells us that Jerusalem will be destroyed completely (Jeremiah 19:10, 11) but does not say when this will happen. Isaiah 29:3, 4 appears to describe a nuclear war which will bring “Ariel” (i.e., Jerusalem) to the ground, rendering the whole land uninhabitable. But again, Isaiah gives no revelation of timing in this. All we can say for sure is that these prophecies have been fulfilled only partially in the past, because the city was rebuilt after its destruction.
Today it is becoming increasingly clear that the Israeli state itself is about to provoke a nuclear war with Iran. The US embassy is being evacuated in Baghdad in case Iran decides to attack US bases in the area for supporting and arming the Israelis.

A last-minute negotiation is scheduled to take place June 15 in Muscat between the US and Iran. I don’t think this will be a true negotiation. It will be a US ultimatum with a hardline demand that Iran must cease all uranium enrichment. Even if Iran were to back down, it would not satisfy the Israelis who are determined to destroy Iran.
PM Netanyahu recently said that Iran should be treated according to the “Libyan model.” Recall that after Libya dismantled its nuclear program, the West attacked it and essentially destroyed the country. Iran took note of this, and they are not about to make themselves vulnerable to attack or believe that ending nuclear enrichment will be the final demand. Ending nuclear enrichment would only set themselves up for future destruction.
So the world has moved closer to a regional war that Scripture prophesies will destroy “Ariel” and cast out the “bondwoman” (Galatians 4:30). When this occurs, the Church will have to switch their allegiance to Christ and the heavenly Jerusalem or conclude that prophecy has failed. This could be a crisis of faith for many Christians. It could also make them very angry at their Zionist leaders for teaching their false interpretations of prophecy.
As for me, I will continue to warn both the Israelis and the Church, bearing witness to the truth that the prophets and apostles plainly teach. I also expect divine intervention, not to save the Israeli state but to cause the people to repent. Christians everywhere need to know who is who and switch their support from Hagar-Jerusalem to Sarah-Jerusalem (Galatians 4:25, 26). By the time they see the light, I believe it will be too late to stop the destruction of the Israeli state. The Zionist Church will then have to face the horrible truth that they encouraged the Israelis to adopt their warmongering policies that ended in total destruction.
I am reminded of the Roman war (66-73 A.D.), where the radical factions among the Jews forced everyone to revolt and fight against Rome, claiming that God would deliver them. That deliverance never happened, and the city was destroyed. Millions died, based on a false hope and a misplaced belief that God would back them and never allow such destruction to take place.
The expected deliverance failed to materialize, as history shows. But most people fail to learn the lessons of history; hence, they are doomed to repeat their past mistakes.
In my view, the coming war is not going to break out this month or next. I expect it to break out closer to October, because the Prophetic Year ends with the feast of Tabernacles each year. This even, I think, will probably mark the climax of the current Prophetic Year. I cannot say for sure at this point, but these are my thoughts.
Isaiah 29:5 uses the word “suddenly,” which seems to indicate that when this war begins, the destruction of “Ariel” will not come gradually. If the past is any indication, the Israelis will launch a “pre-emptive” attack against Iran, framing this as a defensive war. This may have worked in the past, but it will not work this time. The Israelis have already used up their credibility by claiming that their genocide in Gaza is a defense against “genocidal” Palestinians. Such Israeli claims have now inoculated the world against this propaganda disease, and no one will be sympathetic.
As for us, we will continue to do all that we can to save lives on all sides of these needless wars. We note with some satisfaction that hundreds of thousands of Israelis have already left the country and have returned to their European countries of origin. I believe that this is one way that God is establishing the ten percent level of mercy prophesied in Isaiah 6:13.
