View Full Tract ListThe US Air Force struck the military airfield at Iran’s Kargh Island yesterday, with photos of bombs hitting the runways and one of the buildings. President Trump touted it as the greatest strike in the history of the Middle East.
Previously, however, he claimed that Iran’s air force had been obliterated already, so makes us wonder how this will change anything. Did the USAF hit an unused airport?
Trump also explained that he spared the oil facilities on the island for the sake of “decency.” I wonder how long this “decency” will last, given the current escalation of strikes against other oil facilities (on both sides).
Meanwhile, the US acknowledged that a large air tanker, used for refueling military jets on midair, suddenly crashed out of the sky, killing the crew on board. Colonel Doug Macgregor pointed out that jets are most vulnerable taking off or landing, but why would a big tanker suddenly blow up, catch fire, and crash to the ground with no survivors? Most likely, it was because it was hit by an Iranian missile.

If so, this would nearly cripple the USAF in the region, because the bombers can only fly fairly short distances and rely totally on the tankers for refueling. Without those tankers, the bombers are very limited, and Iran is a big country. Iran has found the US weakness—it is the tankers. There is no need to try to get in a dogfight with an F-35 or F-16 fighter jet. Just shoot down the slow moving tankers.
The war is not going nearly as well as the president thinks.
