When we prayed “God Bless America,” we used the biblical definition of “bless,” which is the way in which the seed of Abraham was supposed to bless all families of the earth. The word is defined in Acts 3:25, 26,
25 It is you who are the sons of the prophets and of the covenant which God made with your fathers, saying to Abraham, “And in your seed all the families of the earth shall be blessed.” 26 For you first, God raised up His Servant and sent Him to bless you by turning every one of you from your wicked ways.
Six months later, when everyone began to pray this, we saw that they were actually praying for God to turn the entire nation from its wicked ways. Most of them, of course, were thinking more in terms of God blessing us so that we might continue to sin with impunity. Nonetheless, I believe that God will answer their prayer in ways they are not expecting.
On March 28, 2001, a few days after God granted America a divorce from the golden calves, I asked the Lord how we should pray blessings on America. He gave me James 5:17, 18,
17 Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain; and it did not rain on the earth for three years and six months. 18 And he prayed again, and the sky poured rain, and the earth produced its fruit.
The Father then interpreted this for us, saying,
“I have given you [plural] the authority to either withhold spiritual blessings or confer them on America.”
“Can you give me another Scripture to show us the actual content of the blessings?”
“Luke 24:23-28.”
Luke 24:27 gives the actual instructions:
27 And beginning with Moses and with all the prophets, He explained to them the things concerning Himself in all the Scriptures.
He then said,
“You are to pray that their ears be opened to hear the Word. This is their primary blessing, but not their only blessing. As you pray, I will open their ears.”
As I explained earlier, America as a nation is connected prophetically to ancient Israel. Whereas Israel was broken apart and scattered from 745-721 B.C., America formed a new nation 2,520 years later from 1776-1800. It was rebuilt with the motto: “Out of many, One.” Hence, it can be called an Israelite nation.
Of course, in 1776 we were still under the reign of “Saul,” which was the Pentecostal Age. So America could not yet be led by overcomers representing the house of David. It was inevitable, then, that America would not be founded fully on the laws of God. Though our founders did a remarkable job in establishing principles of liberty, they failed to extend that liberty to all people equally. They also retained the prison system instead of mandating labor to pay restitution to the victims of injustice. In addition, they failed to outlaw usury, which eventually allowed a banking system to gain control over the nation.
Preparing the Bride
Revelation 19:7, 8 says,
7 Let us rejoice and be glad and give the glory to Him, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and His bride has made herself ready. 8 It was given to her to clothe herself in fine linen, bright and clean; for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints.
This implies that there was a time when the bride was NOT clothed in fine linen. She had to make herself ready and “clothe herself in fine linen” in order to be married to the One whose robe is “dipped in blood” (Revelation 19:13). The bride, then, is to be married to Christ in His Joseph capacity, for Joseph’s robe was also dipped in blood (Genesis 37:31).
Christ’s first coming through the tribe of Judah was to prepare the bride for marriage, but it is only in His second coming through the tribe of Joseph-Ephraim that the actual marriage can take place.
From 1776-1800, we were still more than two centuries short of Christ’s Joseph manifestation. So in spite of the optimism in the late 1700’s, where men like Timothy Dwight lauded America as the Stone Kingdom of Daniel 2:34 and as the beginning of the prophesied Kingdom of God, it was still not fully time for the sons of God to take the lead.
Much work yet had to be done to prepare the hearts of the people. America would, in fact, succumb to Mystery Babylon in the form of the Federal Reserve Bank. America was yet to suffer the consequences of its sin in order to learn to extend liberty to all people equally. But without understanding the restoration of all things, the church itself was yet unprepared to rule the world with liberty and justice for all. And its politicians were in a worse state.
Even so, the year 1993 was the pivotal year that things began to change. Prophetic “Saul” then died, and the house of David began to be raised up, reaching full authority after 7½ years on November 30, 2000. Then the house of Joseph emerged, built upon the foundation stones that the house of David had laid.
So then the bride theme came to the forefront, though we did not immediately realize what was happening. At first we knew only that the golden calves had to be overthrown. Then we learned that we were to treat this as a divorce, and this brought us to the bride theme.
On March 29, 2001, the Lord spoke to us, saying,
“America will be turned from her iniquity. It is My intent to make America a glorious bride that reflects My glory. America will be just the first nation that I marry, for other Israelite nations will join America as the Kingdom of God later… when they accept Me as King and join the federation of Israel nations.”
On one level, God is working with the actual descendants of the lost tribes of Israel, who, under various names, were exiled to Assyria and later emigrated through the Caucasus Mountains into Europe. When God divorced Israel (Jeremiah 3:8), God stripped them of their tribal names, and they were no longer known by the name Israel. But today God is again preparing for marriage, where He will give this Birthright name to any nation that He marries.
As we know from Daniel 2:34, the Stone that crushes the image of Babylon is Jesus Christ Himself, and His Stone Kingdom is His bride. Daniel 2:44 interprets the Stone as “a kingdom which will never be destroyed.” It is both Christ and His Kingdom. His Kingdom will begin small, but it “became a great mountain and filled the whole earth” (Daniel 2:34).
What is a Kingdom?
Every kingdom must have four elements to be a kingdom. First, it must have a king. It must also have citizens, territory, and laws. Jesus came as the Lion of the tribe of Judah to be the King. The Pentecostal Age was an age wherein His Kingdom was disputed and where the people were given opportunity to decide their citizenship, whether of a beast kingdom or the Kingdom of God.
Further, those who decided to be citizens of the Kingdom of God were divided further into two groups, commonly called (1) the church, and (2) the overcomers. Prophetically speaking, these were either of the house of Saul or the house of David.
The territories of “Saul” were called Christian nations, and America among them. Broadly speaking, there were Catholic Christian nations and later Protestant Christian nations. But none of these met the full criteria of a Kingdom nation—or even an Israel nation, as God would define it. When the United States was formed two centuries ago, many had good intentions and wanted Jesus Christ to be their King. Even George Washington himself, when asked if he would consent to be the first king in the event that the congress formed a monarchy, refused, telling them that America already had a King.
Early America was quite similar to the Israelites in the days of Joshua. They had good intentions but no sustainability. There was leaven in the loaf that would only spread. There were tares in the wheat that could not be removed until the harvest. There was no way for them to deny citizenship to carnal believers or even to non-Christians. Hence, they could not avoid future problems that were sure to come.
Likewise, the laws of the Kingdom differed in many ways from the laws and customs of the government and judicial system. The study of biblical law had just only begun recently after centuries in which the Scriptures were forbidden to all but the priestly class. There were some who understood the biblical laws of equality for all, especially in the state of Pennsylvania. But these were soon overwhelmed by those who lacked that understanding.
In my view, the study of Kingdom law has been the most neglected of the four requirements of a kingdom. Evangelistic efforts have been made to gain acceptance of King Jesus and to gain citizens of the Kingdom. Wars have been fought for territory. Some have even studied the law of God, though usually with an Old Covenant mindset.
It is my belief that by acquiring a New Covenant mindset, we may know the mind of King Jesus, our faith may be Abrahamic, territory may be gained by the sword of the Spirit, and the law of God may be written on our hearts so that we fulfill the law by nature.
This, I believe, is the work of the house of David and the house of Joseph as they pray "God Bless America." Let us bless America and the world by teaching them the principles of the Kingdom and the law of God, "beginning with Moses," following the example of our King.
